2017 Mission trip to Victory
Eight people worked on updates and repairs to this Mission church in Gwinn, Michigan July 19-21, 2017. A lot was accomplished in just two and a half days.
New LED light fixtures were installed that made the sanctuary very bright and cheerful. The written word in Bibles and Hymnals can now be read without desk lamps. Wow! The difference was amazing.
Bright white paint, two coats, was done above the wainscoting where an ivory color was before. This went all around the sanctuary.
The main entrance door was adjusted so that it closes properly. This should stop the winter draft that wouldn't let them stand there to greet people on Sunday mornings.
A new floor mat was put down to just add a nice update to the entrance.
A 15 foot breezeway was built over the front entrance. It has a slanted metal roof and clear walls. This should keep the snow and ice away from the door.
A light fixture was switched out for the thrift shop to help the gals see as they prep clothes and merchandise to go out on the floor.
God blessed the team with good weather and great people to work with in the church. Chaplin Bill is helping out with services as Deacon John is on leave now these next 6 weeks. Bill is a member of the church and helped us each day as we sorted through the work to be done . Sheryl, the church secretary, kept in touch with Deacon John while we were there and even sent pictures with her phone as we were going along. Deacon John awaits surgery in Colorado and he is there with family. His daughter, Faith remains in hospice. God again showed us that He was working in all the details of the mission trip.
