Welcome to our Dual Parish Missions

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:14-17

The start of 2019 Missions

Missouri River Valley: In response to the floods that have ravaged the plains of the Missouri River Valley a convoy of 6 trucks and a semi headed out to deliver some much needed supplies. They literally had tons of hay, fencing, animal health supplies, and cash on this trip, and several trucks had left earlier from this area also.

2018 Missions

Gwinn, Michigan: In June, the lighting project was totally completed when three members went up to Gwinn, Michigan and put up the last two lights for their sanctuary. It was a full days work and they were able to complete it. As of right now we have nothing left to do at Victory Lutheran Church. Our quilters will continue to sew quilts for the Christmas distribution to the homeless and needy of Victory. We have been a part of that project for the last several years and took a load of quilts up in June with their new lights. Another shipment will go in November/December. Victory is our mission congregation in the district.
Wisconsin Valley High SchoolSeveral people did a work day at Wisconsin Valley High School. Painting, repairs and general help was given to get at those little jobs for them that would make their work easier. Two Merrill members joined our team to lend a hand.
Feed the Starving Children A work day was held at Mount Olive in Wausau, Sept. 29. During our time there; we helped fill food packs that will feed over 16,000 people. Again, we had a team of volunteers that did all sorts of jobs that afternoon and we learned what it was like to be a work team of about a hundred at a time.

Throughout our mission team’s existence, we have had over 30 different people step in to work on a project or two.

Part two of our summer work was to be at Watertown, Wi. for the Bethesda Lutheran Home Camp. Circumstances on their end caused this to be canceled. We continue to look for ways to serve outside of our church walls where we can show the love of Jesus.
